Biography

Dr Ben Ennis Butler is a Senior Lecturer in Design, in the School of Design and the Built Environment, within the Faculty of Arts and Design at the University of Canberra. Ben completed his PhD, Escaping the search box: developing digital interfaces that encourage exploration and discovery, in 2017. His ongoing practice-led research is focused on the creation of novel exploratory interfaces for digital heritage collections.

Teaching

Assistant Professor in Visual Communication in the School of Design and Built Environment, Faculty of Arts & Design, University of Canberra. Since 2019.

A bit about me

I like design, both online and in the real world, and designing (mostly online). I am a big fan of Arne Jacobsen and Hans Wegner, and love travelling. I'm interested in all forms of media, from traditional print to radio, broadcast and exciting new media stuff.

I lived in Denmark in 2006, where I learnt a new language, experienced a different culture and had a great time, my experience there continues to influence my design work.
